East Toronto Therapy is pleased to introduce a new member of the team, Associate Psychotherapist Justin Pinksen. Although new to East Toronto Therapy, Justin has extensive experience providing counselling and therapy services in a variety of settings. As a Registered Social Worker, Justin has training and experience in supporting individuals with concerns such as anxiety, depression and general life stress. He also works with couples facing a variety of challenges including communication difficulties, lack of emotional intimacy, infidelity, and life stage transitions. In addition, Justin has a particular passion for working with couples with children, and with members of LGBTQ communities.
In his marriage counselling and couple therapy, Justin often draws on the approach of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is an approach to couple therapy that has been found to be very effective. Justin says: “I enjoy working within an Emotionally Focused framework, as it not only assists in understanding an individual’s emotional distress, but also helps them in building the connections that they are seeking in their closest and most intimate relationships.”
Justin takes a respectful and collaborative approach to individual and couple therapy, focusing on restoring hope and fostering change. To book an appointment with Justin, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 416-545-9908.
